From Staffordshire County Council Highways Dept
We’re carrying out repairs and improvements across the district over the coming weeks, making a difference to communities across the Staffordshire Moorlands. The work usually includes surfacing and repairs to the road, footways and kerbs, signals and sometimes replacing manhole covers and grids too. Repairs are scheduled as part of our annual programme, or they can be priorities put forward by your local county councillor.
While work takes place, we do - unfortunately - need to put temporary short-term closures in place, so we ask that you bear with us during these times. The following improvements are due to take place in the coming weeks:
Highways improvements in Dilhorne, Cheadle and Werrington - including work on Huntley Road, Rakeway Road and Dilhorne Road.
Preparation work for the resurfacing of the A520 Leek Road, from Moorville Hall to Cheddleton, will start in January. This will include work at Cellarhead and Wetley Rocks and will be carried out during off-peak hours to help minimise disruption.
Highway improvements - including fixing potholes - on the A52 Kingsley Road, from Leek Road in Cheadle to Barnfields Lane in Kingsley, will start on 21 January.
Crews continue to carry out drainage works on Greenway Bank road to clear and remove debris from the drainage system behind Bemersley by Biddulph Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Some structural repairs to the road over the Knypersley reservoir dam have also taken place. Highways crews have also taken the opportunity to fix some potholes on the road while it was closed, which will help minimise future disruption.
Other non-council works include:
Severn Trent Water repairs to damaged infrastructure on the A522 Tape Street in Cheadle will start in January. Openreach will also be carrying out repairs to their infrastructure on the road at the same time, which should help reduce future disruption.
