A Little Work Now will pay dividends in the Spring!

Getting Your Garden Ready for Winter

It's starting to get colder and dark nights are drawing in as we approach winter, but we still have some bright days so it's a good time to get into the garden. Here are a few things to do this month:

  • Cut back your roses - limbers can be cut back hard and standards just back to the ring.

  • Some people cut perennials back in early spring but I think winter is best.

  • Don't forget that the lawn can be cut for another month at least.

  • Weeds can be pulled easily as you can see where they are.

A little bit of work now can give you a lovely surprise in the spring, especially if you plant some bulbs - they can poke there heads out as early as March.
