How can COGNEWS achieve inclusivity excellence in its content and community?

COGNEWS aims to make our publications as inclusive and friendly as possible. This week, on the 5th of March I attended a "Neurodivergence in the Workplace" workshop. I do have some lived experience of this, and that of working with some of our writers. It's one of my greatest joys's helping people get their words on page and screen, and I was keen to know more and do better.

There was a real mixture of attendees with most having some direct experience, and everyone wanting to bring better support to the work place. I often wonder about page colours, fonts, loading times and ease of finding what you need from our publications. Balancing that against the resources available to do anything is challenging but vital that we do so. As a direct result of attending the workshop, you'll notice that I've changed the blog background colour to off-white. I've reviewed the fonts and I'm fairly happy that we are compliant. That's not enough, we must take our readers' needs properly into consideration and with this in mind I'd like to invite readers to share their needs confidentially so that we may strive for inclusive excellence in making this organisation friendly for all.
