Outside Organise the First Moorlands Pride Event

This week, 24th April 2025, Outside Arts has announced the details of the first-ever Moorlands Pride event. "Pride in the Moorlands" will take place on 27th - 29th June this year.

They are looking for amazing locations to host it and giving local communities the opportunity to celebrate and make the LGBTQ+ community visible in towns, villages, or neighborhoods across the Moorlands.

Local groups, schools, community centers, businesses, and individuals can apply for the Pride Torch to visit their area and receive up to £250 to help host inclusive activities. Ideas might include a picnic in the park, silent disco, drag storytelling, rainbow slide, crafts, dance event, afternoon tea, or anything else. Outside wants to hear ideas for bringing people together in celebration.

How to Apply

Key dates:

• Applications must be submitted by 9th May

• Successful applicants will be notified by 12th May

• The Pride Torch will travel across the Moorlands on 27th, 28th & 29th June

Where can you host an event?

• Your local park

• Village hall

• School

• Community centre

• Town square

• High street

• Business

• Library

Outside are open to other ideas too

Other ways to get involved

Outside also want to hear from you if you:

• Want to carry the torch for a leg of its journey

• Want to volunteer your time in supporting the event

• Are a local business interested in sponsoring the event

• Are a charity supporting the LGBTQ+ community wanting to bring a stall to Sunday 29th June.

How to apply:

Simply email pride@outsidearts.org with your name, email address, phone number, the address of the venue including postcode, and a brief description of the activity and why you would like to bring Pride to your place by Friday 9th May.
