Social value: Can you support care leavers? Event

Wednesday 26 March 2025

8:00am - 10.30am

Trentham Park Gold Club, Park Drive, Trentham, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 8AE

Industry experts BayNel will be the keynote speakers at a breakfast event designed to support businesses with their social value activities.

A care leaver is a young person who has experienced being in care at some stage, such as foster care. There is a responsibility to help give these young people the same opportunities as everyone else and businesses can be a part that.

Supporting your local community through social value activities makes business sense. It strengthens your brand and reputation and impacts on your growth opportunities.  Supporting young people with employment experiences and opportunities, and more flexible working for foster carers, are just two ways businesses can do that.

At this event you can:

  • Gain an insight into the latest social value trends and strategies.

  • Find out about to signing up to the Care Leavers' Covenant and the support you’ll receive when you take on a care leaver.

  • Find out about employment and experience opportunities the county council offers care leavers and find inspiration for your own.

  • Find out ways to strengthen your procurement pitch and explore business support to help you add more social value, including funding and support on Net Zero, and free recruitment support

  • Connect and network with other like-minded businesses.
