Cheadle Elects New Town Mayor

We would like to thank our outgoing Mayor Councillor Mrs Liz Whitehouse for all her hard work and dedication to the town during the past 12 months. We also welcome our newly elected Mayor Councillor Ms Paulette Upton (pictured on the right) with newly elected deputy Mayor and District Councillor Kate Mills.

Our newly appointed Deputy Mayor (pictured on the left) is District and Town Councillor Mrs Kate Mills and she will be keeping a close eye on what Staffordshire Moorlands District Council are doing, she chairs Community Services, and is also Scrutiny Panel member. "I will be a strong voice representing the town’s best interests," she told us. Deputy Mayor Mills enjoys gardening, Indian Food and relaxing with her husband. She has been a youth worker for 30 years and offers support to Moorlands Home Link and an indoor cycling teacher at the Body Bank Gym in Cheadle.

Share your news or Join COG

Are you involved in a community group or project in the Cheadle area?

We meet every month and plan to make the group a force for good to improve all kinds of things for members and residents alike. There are significantly more benefits in working together than separately and we hope the group will be valuable to all our members.

If you've not yet connected to COG we would encourage you to do so. You can share your activities in our activities calendar, share your events in our events section, and all kinds of other information which will help your group.

If you've joined but not checked your listing please do so as soon as possible. You can also log in to Group Spaces to connect with other members."

Should we host a Cheadle Swap Shop?

A lovely community activity popular in rural areas across Europe is a community swap shop. Essentially, if you have an item or service to swap for another item or service, you can list it. If we were to run this we would ask for a small donation (not essential) which then helps us deliver the site, train our people and bring better services to our town. What do you think, should we do it?

You can see our draft idea on the link below and if you'd like to comment you can let us know here."
